Some new faces are coming into Dixon, taking City Positions. Some others are not new, but they have moved up to take other positions.
During a recent City Council meeting, City Manager Dan Langloss spoke of one person who being groomed to take over one department. Heather McCarter recently was given the position of Assistant Financial Director.
McCarter would be taking over for current Financial Director Becky Leslie who is planning for retirement. Langloss said it is good to have someone take the position who is very competent.
Doug Lehman was sworn in as the Interim Police Chief. On Friday May 9, Police Chief Steve Howell retired.
Others who took the oath of office included two other police officers. Colin Grady and Breanna DeHaan were sworn in. Colin Grady is the son of Former Dixon High School Principal Mike Grady. Grady has a brother, Evan who is on the Dixon Police Department.
DeHaan is the daughter of Oregon City Manager Darin DeHaan. DeHaan had also served as the Police Chief of the Oregon Police Department.
Another person to take the oath of office was Michelle Fassler who was sworn in Deputy City Clerk.
