The City of Oregon installed an Electric Vehicle charging station for the public to use. Mayor Ken Williams said the station shows up on maps for electric vehicle owners. This would bring more people to Oregon.
City Manager Darin DeHaan was asked if the city could put up signage to show where it is. DeHaan said IDOT does not like signage on their roads. Mayor Ken Williams asked if there was a universal symbol for EV Charging Stations they could put on a banner.
DeHaan also said they are currently in talks with IDOT about getting signage returned. He admitted that they are currently looking for signage for other places such as Nash Recreation Center.
Mayor Williams also said the charging station is starting to show a small amount of revenue for the city. He said it is small now, but he is confident that would grow.
