Dixon Councilman Feels the City Was Trying to put the Cart in Front of the Horse

Dixon City Councilman Dennis Considine said he felt the council was being asked to put the cart before the horse.

During the recent City Council meeting, the members were asked to approve the renewal of the contracts with the Dixon Chamber of Commerce and the Lee County Industrial Association.  Considine asked if he had missed something.

He said before the council votes to approve the extension they need to come before the council and explain what is going on.

Considine said they owed the respect to the council to show what they are doing and what the money is being used for.  Considine agreed they are doing good work for the city.

They tabled one of the motions and allowed the other to die.  Both entities would be asked to attend the next City Council meeting to present their reports.
