If a computer system can have dementia, then the Rock Falls Hydro Plant computer system has it, says City Administrator Robbin Blackert.

The Rock Falls City Council voted on seven recommendations for technical repairs to the computer system.  The biggest part of the upgrade is the Panel Upgrades at a cost of $1,063,562.  The panels according to Blackert is the main computers that fill an entire wall.

Blackert said the computers and systems are the same computers the city installed in 1988.

The work was supposed to be spread out over the year.  However, Blackert said all of the bids came back in at once.  This is the reason for all of the recommendations Tuesday night.  She also said the city has the finances to pay for the project.
