Dixon Schools Phishing Campaign Results are Positive

The Dixon School Board met in session Wednesday night and after approving the consent agenda items such as monthly bills, balance sheet and website and social media report, the student and teachers of the month were presented.

Under her Superintendent report, Margo Empen talked of the importance of parent teacher’s conferences and the open line of communication throughout the school year.

Empen went on to say that communication between the school and parents is vital to success.

In other news, Business Manager Marc Campbell presented for approval the resolution declaring the intention to issue $4, 5000,000 working cash fund bonds for the purpose of increasing the working cash fund of the district.

The board also approved establishing a Truth in Taxation Hearing scheduled for December, accepted the fiscal year 2024 district audit, and proposed 2024 tax year levy.

Empen was happy to share that a recent internal phishing campaign came back with flying colors. She said that the tech department are a very forward thinking group, always looking at things with a critical eye to avoid data breaches.
